Engineering Faculty Academic General Assembly Meeting Was Held
2022-2023 Academic Year Engineering Faculty Academic General Assembly Meeting was held at Karabük University Engineering Faculty Hamit Çepni Conference Hall.

Karabük University (KBU) Engineering Faculty 2022-2023 Academic General Assembly Meeting was attended by KBU Rector and KBU Engineering Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Refik Polat, KBU Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Mustafa Yaşar and Prof. Dr. İzzet Açar, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration of KBU Prof. Dr. Elif Çepni, KBU Engineering Faculty Deputy Dean Assoc. Dr. Muhammet Tahir Güneşer, academics and guests attended.

KBU Rector Prof. Dr. Refik Polat said, “The main thing is that the right should be halal. The main thing should be to say goodbye. Being halal should be superior to winning a lawsuit in court. Because every legal right is not and cannot be halal. You may have the legal right to buy your bankrupt brother's house, which has been put up for sale, but it is not halal. A contractor with a zoning license is legally innocent when encroaching on the city's horizon, but his work is not halal. The baker, who puts carcinogenic substances in the bread to prolong its shelf life, is legal because he puts his formula on the packaging, so he is innocent, but his work is not halal. The most difficult project of the 21st century must be to match the halal with the legal. We have to find ways to prevent freedoms that have been damaged in connection with ancient values from being bent towards evil. We have to bring a new order in which it is not considered strange to renounce the rights recognized by the law in the name of humanity or Allah.

History has something to teach us. Whether it has realized the most perfect management system or economic development. If the love and good manners of a civilization have been destroyed and its spiritual energy is exhausted, neither the United Nations Charter, the Helsinki Declaration nor the most superior weapons can save that civilization. Our physicians, whom every individual in the society has to go through, should also be sensitive about this issue. On this long road that you will start like every individual in the societies, you will face inner conflicts that struggle with your inner voice and the ambition to win about legal but not halal gains. The main thing is that the right is halal, the main thing is to be halal.

In this regard, I would like to share with you one of my favorite words of Arne Garborg;

"It is said that with money you can have everything, but you cannot;
You can buy food, but not appetite; medicine but not health;
Knowledge but not wisdom; glitter, but not beauty;
Fun, but not joy; acquaintances, but not friends;
Servants, but not faithfulness;
Leisure, but not peace.
You can have the husk of everything for money, but not the kernel."

What you do and how you say it is very important on the way to the result. First of all, you do it to raise your own academic level to the next level and you glorify the name of Karabük University.” said.

At the Academic General Assembly Meeting, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration of KBU Prof. Dr. Elif Çepni talked about the activities of the Higher Education Quality Board (YÖKAK), the developments that KBU will make in terms of quality in the coming years, the preparations and preparation stages of the Quality Accreditation Program (KAP), and the institutional external evaluation stages.

At the end of the "Academic General Assembly Meeting", which was held interactively, the expectations and wishes of the academicians from the management were also expressed.

After listening and discussing questions, suggestions, thoughts and opinions, the "Academic General Assembly" meeting ended.
