Faculty Disaster and Emergency Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Risk Assessment Committee:
Brief Description of the Duty
To provide the necessary service in case of emergencies such as earthquakes, floods, fires, explosions, or urgent medical interventions in the faculty building, and to ensure that people and physical elements are not harmed or that the damage they will suffer is minimized.
Duties, Powers and Responsibilities
  • The team formed by the faculty management ensures the effectiveness, continuity and systematicity of emergency and disaster management activities, taking into account the size of the institution and the diversity of services.
  • Employees who will be on duty in an emergency are determined along with their backups and their responsibilities are defined.
  • Team work is carried out by the team leader and the secretariat with the approval of the Dean.
  • Conducts risk analysis studies according to the physical structure and service areas of the institution, determines and follows up the measures to be taken to reduce and prevent the identified risks.
  • Risk assessment is carried out for emergency management. Risk assessment covers earthquakes, floods, landslides, fires, epidemics, terrorist attacks, sabotage, migration, industrial explosions, nuclear and chemical accidents, poisoning and war.
  • Prepares the emergency and disaster plan. The plan should be reviewed and revised at the frequency determined by the institution.
He/she is responsible to the Dean's Office for the fulfillment of the above-mentioned duties.

Brief Description of the Task
To plan and organize meetings, promotions and events to be held within the Faculty of Engineering and to contribute to the processes of creating scientific output and social contribution. Keeping all pages, announcements and event information on the Faculty website up to date is also among the duties of this committee.
Duties, Powers and Responsibilities
  • To prepare, develop, determine strategies, organize, follow up and finalize projects related to the faculty's promotional activities,
  • To conduct studies to increase the recognition of the faculty in national and international arena,
  • Developing strategies for effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders,
  • To organize faculty introduction days,
  • To ensure the preparation and printing of necessary documents, booklets and brochures for the promotion days,
  • To organize scientific and social seminars, conferences and meetings of the faculty and to be the coordinator of these organizations,
  • Organizing career days that will bring our students and employers together,
  • Programming of social events such as social outings, celebrations, etc.
  • Providing information and assistance to disadvantaged students studying at our faculty and other disadvantaged individuals interested in the field of engineering,
He/she is responsible to the Dean's Office for the fulfillment of the above-mentioned duties.

Brief Description of the Duty
To conduct, manage and organize the operations related to the applied training of the faculty departments.
Duties, Powers and Responsibilities
  • To inform students about relevant issues during the practical training and to make necessary announcements,
  • Determining the suitability of the businesses where practical training will be provided, in applications made on time,
  • To ensure that practical training is carried out within the scope of relevant legislation,
  • To determine the general content of the practical training file in which students will record their work activities during their practical training,
  • To determine the procedures and principles of departmental applied training in order to provide applied training in accordance with the requirements of the department and to submit them to the approval of the department board,
  • To carry out the measurement and evaluation of the gains obtained at the end of the practical training or to form sub-committees, including the responsible teaching staff, to have this process carried out when necessary,
  • To solve problems that may arise regarding practical training and to report unresolved issues to the faculty/college practical training coordinator and the dean's office,

Brief Description of the Duty
Ensures that the common, compulsory and elective courses decided to be opened in line with the needs of the Faculty in the fall, spring and summer school terms and the responsible teaching staff of the related courses are defined in the OBS (Student Information System) and that the Faculty course program is prepared in the most appropriate way possible in line with the Faculty's policy decisions and physical conditions.
Duties, Authorities and Responsibilities
  • The Course Operations Committee and its members are formed by the Dean and carry out their activities after the approval of the Board of Directors.
  • It determines in which semester elective courses, which can be opened independently of the semester in the course curriculum, should be taught.
  • Prepares weekly course schedules at the beginning of the semester.
  • It determines the day and time of the courses with specific terms, according to the course availability of the faculty members who will teach the courses in the relevant terms.
  • If deemed necessary during the semester, changes are made to the days and times of classes and ensures that students and faculty members are informed about the changes.
  • Commission members continue their duties until a new appointment is made.
  • If a commission member leaves for any reason, a new member is appointed by the dean's office.

Definition of Duty
The purpose of this commission is to prepare the ground for the initiation of national and international relations of the faculty and departments within the framework of bilateral agreements, programs and projects, and to initiate, carry out and develop these relations. Within the framework of the University's internationalization goals, to ensure that faculty students and academic staff gain international experience in education and research activities, to help students and scientists from foreign universities integrate with the University and to contribute to the development of both the University and the province of Karabük by ensuring that the University benefits from international programs and projects.
It carries out faculty and student exchange programs such as Mevlana, Farabi and Erasmus, etc. and contacts universities abroad in order to establish bilateral agreements suitable for the needs of the faculty and the relevant department.
Duties, Powers and Responsibilities
  • Coordinates activities related to the national and international promotion and relations (Mevlana, Erasmus and Farabi) of the faculty.
  • It determines the position of the faculty in the national/international relations process, identifies new developments and sets the direction.
  • It ensures the operation of the exchange processes of students and academic staff within the scope of Erasmus / Mevlana / Farabi within the framework of the regulations and carries out bilateral agreement studies.
  • It carries out coordination and cooperation between the relevant Commissions of other Departments within the Faculty.
  • Fulfills the duties assigned by the Dean's Office regarding national/international relations and is responsible for change and improvements.
  • To follow up the procedures of students participating in exchange programs and to carry out procedures regarding incoming students within this scope.
  • Organizing information meetings (separately for outgoing and incoming students).
  • To introduce Exchange Programs within the Faculty and prepare promotional materials,
  • Determines whether the courses planned to be taken from the host university through the exchange program are compatible with the departmental curriculum courses. Works closely with the department's Curriculum Committee and Exemption Procedures Committee.
  • To perform other duties assigned by laws and regulations.
  • To report the decisions taken by the commission to the Dean's Office.

Brief Description of the Position
Keeps the faculty's laboratory and infrastructure inventory, prepares the instructions for laboratory devices and positions them so that they can be seen next to the devices, keeps records of students working in the laboratory, carries out future renovation and improvement studies of the laboratories, reports deficiencies in laboratory devices and consumables to the department head, identifies and reports devices requiring maintenance and repair, organizes special cleaning works of the laboratories. The duties and responsibilities of the Laboratory Committee include overseeing the practical training areas in the laboratories used within the faculty, planning the needs and communicating them to the relevant units, recording the problems or malfunctions that may arise during use and finding solutions.
Duties, Authorities and Responsibilities
  • Ensuring that the faculty's infrastructure, laboratories and classes are developed in accordance with the targeted accreditation criteria,
  • Checking the infrastructure measures taken for the disabled and working on identifying and eliminating any deficiencies, if any.
  • Preparation and updating of the inventory list of existing hardware and software in faculty laboratories,
  • Checking the calibration status of existing devices in the laboratory and having these devices calibrated when necessary,
  • Labeling the name and instructions for use on existing devices in the laboratory,
  • To ensure the orderly and efficient use of laboratories by coordinating the technicians, research assistants and students working in the laboratories,
  • Preparation of necessary warning and caution signs against safety and work accidents and determination of their locations,
  • To follow the meetings/activities regarding safety and occupational accident prevention measures and to ensure that the department staff and students are informed,
  • Preparation of offers by coordinating with relevant faculty members for new devices and equipment to be purchased for the laboratory,
  • To prepare an activity presentation regarding the committee work at the end of each term and present it to the Faculty Academic Council.

Brief Description of the Duty
To establish the internal and external quality assurance system in our faculty, to determine the quality indicators and to carry out the work to be carried out within this scope in accordance with the procedures and principles determined by the quality commission. To make the necessary preparations regarding the units during the external evaluation process, to provide all kinds of support regarding the units to the Higher Education Quality Board and external evaluator institutions during the audit process and to carry out the work in cooperation with the department quality commissions.

  • Every year, periodically, in January of the following year, the University prepares the Final Performance Program of that year, taking into account the annual internal or external evaluation report, the results of the internal periodic reviews, the annual report of the University Quality Commission and the relevant decisions of its higher boards, adhering to the strategic plan for the next calendar year, and creates and executes the appropriate improvement action plans.
  • To determine the success indicators of the Faculty activities and to carry out the work to be done within this scope in line with the procedures and principles determined by the Higher Education Quality Board and to report these works to the Dean's Office for the approval of the Faculty Board,
  • To determine the quality targets of the faculty,
  • To ensure that the concept of quality is adopted by all employees,
  • To prepare the Faculty Internal Evaluation and Report,
  • To make the necessary preparations for the certification studies to be carried out by independent organizations regarding the Quality Management System in the Faculty,
  • To announce the decisions of the Faculty Quality Commission to the relevant sub-units of the Faculty, to contribute to the implementation of the sub-units and to monitor their results,
  • To contribute to the creation of an institutional culture based on participation, more effective and efficient use of Faculty resources, improvement of processes and provision of quality service in the implementation of quality management processes,
  • To submit the annual report regarding the Faculty activities to the Dean's Office to be submitted to the University Quality Commission by the end of December,
  • To organize and carry out quality assessment and assurance studies and accreditation studies within the faculty,
  • To prepare improvement action plans to improve areas that are open to improvement as a result of internal or external evaluations, to determine which improvements should be completed, under whose responsibility, when and in what time period, and to execute the improvement action plan in cooperation with the relevant units, after receiving approval from the Dean's Office,
  • Organizes periodic review meetings and reports the evaluation results to the Dean's Office to be submitted to the Faculty Board,
  • To report the results of internal and external evaluations made in the faculty to the Dean's Office for public announcement,

Brief Description of the Duty
The duty of the Accreditation Commission is to inform the departmental curriculum commission about the requirements for the curriculum of the Faculty of Engineering Undergraduate Programs to be compatible with the MÜDEK criteria and to express an opinion on the compatibility of the resulting curriculum.
To direct the structuring and sustainable development of the Bologna process within the Faculty.
Duties, Powers and Responsibilities
  • To follow and coordinate the Faculty's MÜDEK activities,
  • To examine and express opinions on relevant issues on the agenda of the Academic Boards of the departments in terms of curriculum compatibility,
  • To follow the education and training activities carried out in the department in terms of curriculum,
  • To inform the department curriculum committees about the requirements for arranging the department curriculum in line with MÜDEK criteria,
  • To determine the closeness of the curriculum to international standards in order to keep it up to date,
  • To communicate with external stakeholders and to evaluate and express opinions on new courses and activities that are desired to be included in the curriculum,
  • To direct the work of other commissions in line with MÜDEK expectations,
  • Coordinate the preparation of documents and materials to be submitted to the MÜDEK Evaluation Team,
  • To carry out accreditation procedures,
  • Coordinating the preparation of unit self-assessment reports within the scope of MÜDEK,
  • Organize all the procedures that need to be done within the department within the scope of MÜDEK and make the necessary warnings,
  • Organizing the MÜDEK Department visit,
  • To take necessary actions and decisions to correct the deficiencies, weaknesses, etc. specified in the reports of MÜDEK Evaluation teams,
  • To establish sub-committees and distribute tasks when necessary, to provide information on the subject at the Faculty Board meetings,
  • To ensure that the Bologna process studies are carried out completely on behalf of the Faculty, to request and follow up the activities to be carried out on the basis of the Departments and relevant units,
  • Developing principles and recommendations that will ensure compliance within the scope of the Bologna process, providing correct inputs in accordance with quality standards in order to achieve the targets related to the process, determining, preparing and having prepared the necessary documents and guides,
  • To organize training seminars with the participation of authorized persons from the University Information Technology Department and Bologna Coordination Office, when necessary and requested, to provide information on issues related to the Bologna process.
  • To ensure that all faculty academic units control the Bologna information entry in cooperation with the Student Affairs Presidency, the Department of Information Technology and the University Bologna Coordination Office,
  • To form facilitating subgroups from relevant Departments when necessary in order to effectively carry out the above-mentioned tasks at the Faculty level, and to assign the Faculty academic and administrative staff to activities related to the Bologna process within this scope,
  • Planning tasks and determining priorities in accordance with the determined work schedule,

Brief Description of the Task
The working method of the Commission is determined as; to establish a university-industry cooperation policy by taking into consideration the dynamics such as R&D, human resources, research infrastructures, entrepreneurship, strategic areas, participation of the industry and other important policies such as education, employment, industry, export and the like, to direct the industry and universities within the framework of this policy, to monitor the process with the necessary mechanisms and to ensure coordination.
Duties, Powers and Responsibilities
  • To determine R&D strategies and conduct studies on this subject in order to strengthen faculty-private sector (production, industry, marketing) cooperation in the field of engineering,
  • Establishing cooperation with stakeholders working in the private and public sectors who need R&D work in their field of work,
  • Encouraging project work on issues needed by the private sector by cooperating with the private sector,
  • In this context, to determine the current status of the relationship between the parties, to work to resolve any problems, to develop joint project ideas and to carry out projects together,
  • Creating and monitoring the infrastructure of projects and cooperation agreements to be carried out in the sector by faculty units or teaching staff,
  • Bringing together researchers, sector representatives, sector organizations and relevant public institutions to produce common sense regarding our fields of activity,
