OBS Internship Application Status Tracking
Regularly check the approval status of your internship application on the OBS Internship Procedures page:
  • "Henüz Tamamlanmadı" (Not Yet Completed) : There are missing components in your application. Please complete your missing information and upload the filled, signed, and stamped/sealed "Applied Training Application and Acceptance Document"; then tick the confirmation box at the bottom of the page and click the "Save" button.
  • "İşlem Bekliyor" (Pending Action) : Your application has been received and forwarded to the internship committee. No further action is required from you.
  • "Hatalı Başvuru (Düzenleyiniz)" (Incorrect Application - Please Edit) : There is information or a document in your application that needs to be corrected. Please update it by editing the relevant application on the OBS Internship Procedures page.
  • "Kontrole Gönderildi" (Submitted for Review) : Your application is under review and evaluation. Please follow the system regularly to learn your application result.
  • "Staj Yeri Onaylandı" (Internship Location Approved) : Your application has been accepted. You can download your insurance declaration of employment from the e-Devlet (e-Government) system on the day your internship starts.
  • "Staj Yeri/Başvuru Reddedildi" (Internship Location/Application Rejected) : Your application has been rejected. You may submit a different internship application.

Summer School and Compulsory Internship Planning: Students who will both attend summer school and complete a compulsory internship must begin their internships after the summer school ends (Monday, August 31, 2026). The internship end date should be calculated as 20 working days, excluding public holidays. The internship end date may vary depending on whether Saturdays are included in the internship schedule.
Students who will begin their compulsory internships after summer school exams must fill out and upload the following commitment form via the OBS Student Internship Procedures page to avoid any loss of rights if their internship dates clash with their fall term classes.

MERSIS Search: Through the Central Registry System (MERSIS) provided by the T.R. Ministry of Trade, you can quickly look up the trade name, tax number, and address information of the business where you intend to conduct practical training by using the firm search feature.

Information: To begin your internship, you can obtain the necessary insurance commencement document by using the 'Create Document' button next to Karabuk University in the '4A Employment Entry and Exit Declaration' section on the e-Government system.

Recognition of Prior Learning (Internship Recognition/Equivalency)

Students who are working or have worked in a job related to their program of study may apply to have the learning gained at the workplace counted towards their mandatory internship, provided they document the duration and title of their employment. The following documents must be submitted to the Department Secretariat for this purpose:

  • 📄 Compulsory Internship Recognition Form
  • 📄 Internship Report
  • 📄 Internship Evaluation Receipt (in a Sealed Envelope)
  • 📄 SGK Registration and Service Record - Workplace Title List (e-Government Printout with Barcode)

The adaptation committee, which rejects incomplete or procedurally incorrect applications, only conducts measurement and evaluation procedures for candidates it deems suitable.

Government Incentives for Private Sector Companies

In accordance with the Vocational Education Law No. 3308 and the Procedures and Principles issued based on this Law, in order for private sector businesses that pay intern students to benefit from state subsidies, the following documents must be submitted by the business or the student to the "Applied Education Insurance Payment and Course Fee Payment Affairs" unit of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences Dean's Office upon completion of the internship.

  • Wet Signed Contract Copy
  • Bank Receipt for the Fee Stated in the Contract which is Deposited into the Student Account
  • Monthly Check Chart (Attendance Schedule) Completed and Signed by the Responsible Operations Officer [The attendance schedule determined by the company will be used.]

Payments cannot be made for applications with incomplete or procedurally incorrect documents. For students who will be doing their internships in the private sector, the contract is as follows:
