About Department
The Software Engineering Undergraduate Program aims to train engineers who can identify user needs, design and develop software, use information technologies to meet the needs of the industry, keep up with changes and produce solutions with the contribution of basic engineering and mathematical sciences.
 
Students who successfully complete the department; Software Engineers who are equipped to take part in all levels of software projects such as analysis, design, coding, testing and management, are able to develop mobile and web-based applications, and have knowledge and experience in the most up-to-date fields such as data science and artificial intelligence.
 
Karabuk University, which will start education at the undergraduate level in 2022-2023, will admit students to the Software Engineering Department this year, and 100% Turkish education will be given in the department. In the first years of the four-year education period, basic engineering courses are given; In the third and fourth years, in addition to the compulsory software engineering courses, it will be possible to choose many elective courses. In addition, they will be able to receive practical training in a software company for one semester in their final year.There are 1 Associate Professor, 4 Doctor and 1 Research Assistant in our department.
 
The Software Engineering Department is located within the Faculty of Engineering, on the Karabük University Demir Çelik Campus. In this campus, our students are offered practical and theoretical education as well as social opportunities.
 
Our department develops both its academic staff and its infrastructure in a way that keeps up with the changes in software technologies by offering a quality education opportunity to its students; It aims to train Software Engineers who are knowledgeable, conscious, keep themselves up to date, and attach importance to ethical values.
 

 
SOFTWARE ENGINEERING JOB OPPORTUNITIES
 
Students who successfully complete the Software Engineering Undergraduate Program; They can take part in research activities in information technologies, engineering, consultancy and R&D staffs of national or international companies, in graduate programs of universities in Turkey or abroad.
 
They will have job opportunities in software development-oriented companies, research and development laboratories using software technologies, businesses that produce and use information technologies, public institutions and organizations, health sector, aviation sector, defense industry and many similar fields and institutions where special software is designed and used.
 
Since software is the most common communication, service and production tool today, the job opportunities of our graduates have an extremely wide range.
 
Generally, the job fields of software engineers are; programming, testing, business analyst, database expertise and project management.
