In the most general sense, mechatronics engineering deals with the problem of directing a system to the desired state with appropriate software and hardware. After the industrial revolution, some problems that occurred due to the rapidly developing technology and the rapid increase in production led people to seek new ways to get more efficiency. The use of the information obtained because of the research in the industry and other systems that produce from the industry has created synergy between different engineering fields and has led to the birth of a new interdisciplinary engineering branch, “Mechatronics Engineering.
Mechatronics Engineering is one of the major engineering disciplines that inspires the future and guides various extraordinary technological leaps that have the potential to shape the future. Mechatronics Engineering doctorate programs within our university meet the demand for highly qualified personnel in the field of Mechatronics Engineering in academia and industry.
To be a national and international contemporary and respected program that will train high-qualified manpower to work in research and development studies in Mechatronics Engineering, create scientific and technological knowledge, and play an active role in the innovative development of our national mechatronics engineering industry are among the main objectives of this program.
The doctoral program, by carrying out original scientific research and development studies in different fields of mechatronics, to train qualified research engineers and academicians who are sensitive to global environmental and security problems to meet the needs of universities and the mechatronics engineering industry, teaches in a structure that transfers theory and theory to practice and educates doctors at international level. To be a pioneer training program among similar institutions, whose engineers provide benefits to our society and humanity.

Students who graduate from the Mechatronics doctorate program can easily find a job, and some of them even start working while they are still students.
Graduates of the Mechatronics engineering doctorate program can also work as research, design and production engineers in small and medium-sized businesses that design and manufacture Mechatronic systems. Students who complete this program also could start their own business operating in the field of Mechatronics with a small capital.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS TO THE DOCTORAL PROGRAM
To apply for the PhD program, candidates must meet the following conditions:
• To have a master's degree with thesis (excluding preparatory classes, those who take ten semesters of undergraduate education are considered to have a master's degree) and to have received at least 55 points from ALES in the score type of the program applied.
• ALES is not required for foreign students.
• Those who apply to the doctorate program with a bachelor's degree must have a minimum of 3.00 or an equivalent point out of 4.00, and to have received at least 80 points in the score type of the program they applied for.
• To have at least 55 points from the international foreign language exams accepted as equivalent to the central foreign language exams accepted by the Higher Education Council other than their mother tongue, or to have an equivalent score from the international foreign language exams whose equivalence is accepted by ÖSYM.
ASSESSMENT AND STUDENT ACCEPTANCE IN DOCTORAL PROGRAMS
The evaluation of the applications of the candidates and the admission of students to the programs are made according to the following conditions:
• Success grade in the admission of the candidates who will apply to the doctorate program with a master's or bachelor's degree with thesis; It is calculated by taking 50% of the ALES score, 10% of the graduate or undergraduate grade point average, 30% of the written exam score and 10% of the interview exam score. Written exams and interviews may not be held in disasters and epidemics. In these cases, in student admission; The score obtained as a result of the sum of 50% of the ALES score and 10% of the undergraduate grade point average is ranked starting from the highest and students are admitted within the quota, starting from the candidate with the highest score. A reserve list equal to half of the quota is announced.
• Written exam is determined by evaluating out of 100 full marks. Candidates who do not take the written exam or whose score is below 75 are considered unsuccessful.
• Candidates who cannot be included in the list due to the quota within the overall success grade are ranked according to their success scores and form the substitutes.
